We haven't been to the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC for several years, so decided to visit this year. We're not looking for a new van, but it's always good to see the new models and we want to look at accessories too.
On Monday (12 October) we drove to Chapel Lane Club Campsite, which is just a short drive from the NEC. When we arrived on site we were told we had a pitch in the 'Adult' area (which we hadn't booked) so were shown where to pitch. It was okay but the site was very shabby compared to our last visit. It rained all afternoon so we stayed on site as neither of us wanted to go for a walk and get wet!
We drove off site on Tuesday to visit the NEC - it was a very good show and we enjoyed the day. We returned late afternoon and after setting up stayed on site as we were both feeling tired as we had walked almost seven miles around the halls.
On Wednesday (14 October) we drove to Cirencester Park Club Campsite for a few days. We enjoy visiting this site, especially in the to see the autumnal colours on the Bathurst Estate. After setting up we walked into Cirencester, had a pot of tea at the Arts Centre Cafe before returning to site.
We had an early start on Thursday as we decided to catch the bus to Cheltenham. We spent time walking around the town and had a lovely lunch at The Cosy Club before returning to site late afternoon. After the lovely sunny day it turned a lot colder in the evening and overnight.
We had a cold start to the day on Friday so we had plenty of layers of clothing when we started our walk around the Bathurst Estate. We walked some of our favourite paths before walking through Stratton and back to the site for lunch. In the afternoon we walked into Cirencester for a potter around the shops before getting our food shopping and returning to site.
Saturday was another cold morning and we walked more paths through the Bathurst Estate. We enjoyed watching a bi-plane make a smiley face in the sky, although it was upside down from where we were standing! We returned to the site for lunch and visited Cirencester again in the afternoon for some food shopping.
We returned home on Sunday to get everything ready for more jobs on the flat over the next few weeks.
